Diego Alejandro Barrales Alcalá

Biologist from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco campus, and Master of Science from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, with a focus on systematics, he has specialized in the study of arachnids, describing several new species of whip scorpions and scorpions from Mexico. He is the national coordinator of iNaturalistMX, as well as a science communicator and nature photographer. He shares outreach content through the @Arachno_Cosas account on X and Instagram. He coordinates the Programa de Aves Urbanas de Ecatepec in Ecatepec, is a member of the Red Toxicológica de México, and manages the ADVC Pacos Reserva de Flora y Fauna in Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
