She is a Professor and current Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University and a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.
Her research focuses on the relationship between the built environment, sustainable materials, and human well-being, with an emphasis on how design and construction choices can promote environmental responsibility, social equity, and improved quality of life.
