She has served as a research professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara Campus, since 2018. In 2024, she assumed the position of Director of Programs and Student Services at the School of Engineering and Sciences, where she coordinates a team of 14 program and entry directors who support nearly 2,000 undergraduate students. Previously, she led the Bioengineering Department in the Western region for six years. During that time, she had the privilege of leading an academic team of approximately 50 full-time and adjunct faculty members, fostering collaboration and professional development.
In the administrative field, she has promoted national-level initiatives within the School of Engineering and Sciences. Among these are the implementation of Biohack at a national level, a competition that promotes biotechnological innovation among students, and a mentoring program for emerging researchers aimed at strengthening their skills and boosting their academic and professional development. As a researcher, Dr. Senés specializes in microbial ecology, metagenomics, and environmental biotechnology. Her work addresses the study of microbial communities in various ecosystems, exploring their interactions and applications in sustainable practices.
Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to direct or co-direct 15 master's and doctoral theses, three of which have been recognized with significant awards, such as the Rómulo Garza Award in the postgraduate category and the Best Master's and Doctoral Thesis awards given by the Government of Jalisco. Additionally, she is the author of over 45 scientific publications and book chapters and has participated as a speaker in more than 25 international conferences. Dr. Senés combines her passion for research with a strong commitment to the training of future scientific leaders, always seeking to contribute to sustainable development and the strengthening of the academic community.
