Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she is a research professor at the Healthy Foods Unit of the Institute for Obesity Research (IOR) at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She has extensive experience in characterizing bioactive molecules present in various plant matrices and agro-industrial residues, as well as in developing new food ingredients with beneficial health effects. She is a Level 2 member of the National System of Researchers.
She has 88 scientific publications, outreach articles, and over 1500 citations. She is a member of the Alfanutra Network, the INNOPROT Network in the Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED), the Mexican Association of Food Science (AMECA), and the Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering (SMBB). She has been a guest editor in various Q1/Q2 indexed journals. Winner of the 25 Women in Science program in Latin America and Canada in 2024, an award promoted by the company 3M Latin America. She has participated in various scientific-technological entrepreneurship initiatives and is the co-founder of a company in this sector.
